IronCAD 6 is claimed to be the world's first true hybrid CAD modeller, bringing the worlds of surfaces and solids together in a single CAD product.

IronCAD 6 is claimed to be the world's first true hybrid CAD modeller, bringing the worlds of surfaces and solids together in a single CAD product.

Moulded, or cast objects with a series of complex curved outer surfaces have traditionally been beyond the scope of current solid modellers, but the new release of IronCAD 6, opens up a simpler route for complex product design and manufacture.

The user simply creates a bounding wire frame using IronCAD's highly intuitive 3D curve command set, then using this frame, applies surfaces enveloping the object.

Issuing IronCAD 6's enhanced 'boolean' command joins all the surfaces and forms them into a true ACIS or Parasolids solid object.

Further use of the new surfacing command set then allows the user to create complex curved split lines.

The resultant solids can then be simply 'shelled' into suitable moulding sections.

CNC data can be exported to a host of named CAM systems, drawings can be produced, and weight, volume and property data extracted.

It is possible to pass data in the form of ACIS, Parasolids, or PTC Granite One data seamlessly into other well-known CAD modellers or CAM systems that use these kernels.

With its unique dual ACIS/Parasolids kernel, very complex moulded objects can be developed, which are way beyond the scope of any single kernel modeller.

Blending of corner fillets in objects that would be beyond the capability of either ACIS or Parasolids alone, can often be accomplished by IronCAD's unique 'kernel collaboration' feature which spots 'impossible blends and solves the problem by getting the alternative kernel to handle the problem.

IronCAD 6 contains dozens of practical user driven enhancements making it one of the most capable 3D products in the world.

To test and evaluate IronCAD in a real new project situation, interested purchasers can obtain a 60 day trial copy from Leonardo Computer Systems.
