No waiting for AutoCAD
With the recent announcement of the release of AutoCAD 2005 in April 2004, anyone wishing to urgently purchase an AutoCAD licence has a dilemma.
It displays all drawing sheets and sheet subsets to help users better organise, plot and link information within drawings.
There are new features to create sheets, automate sheet numbering, and populate title blocks with project-based information.
The process of modifications is aided because the user can automatically associate and update detail placement changes on a DWG with callouts that identify their location.
Users can now view and access resource drawings from a single location and add any number of folder locations as resources for sourcing information in the sheet set.
As ever, there are financial incentives for early upgraders, and a financial penalty for those who wait.
For example an upgrade from AutoCAD Lt 2004, 2002 or 2000i has an RRP of GBP 185 plus VAT, before the 1st July 2004 deadline, and reverts to the normal RRP of GBP 250 plus VAT after that date.
On full AutoCAD some prices are halved if the user takes out a subscription and purchases an upgrade before the deadline.
