The Electric Drive with Mechanical Simplicity
The new Varmeca is a motor with some simple but clever circuitry in the terminal box and a large knob on the outside with which to control the speed.
No coincidence that the motors are green
As the technology of motors, bearings, ventilation and design techniques continue to improve so will the efficiency of electric motors; Leroy Somer is determined to stay ahead in the race.
For use with or without variable speed drives, FCR motors offer precision and a wide choice of braking moment, allowing braking distances to precisely match the needs of the application.
The motors are IP55, fully sealed against liquid and dust in an industrial environment.
They are available in single or dual speed options with 2, 4, 6 or 8 poles and have cast aluminium bodies with cast iron end shields.
The brakes are protected to IP44 with cast iron end shields.
The type 2R ball bearings are greased for life.
The rear is blocked to guarantee precise positioning of the load whatever the direction of the force.
The front is heavily preloaded to eliminate axial oscillation.
The power supply for the brake is incorporated into the motor as standard, but it can be separate, in which case it may be the same voltage as that for the motor or different.
Other options include different levels of inertia, different braking torque, manual brake release, a second shaft end, encoders and temperature probes.
FCR Brake motors can also be easily linked to a wide variety of Leroy Somer gearboxes, such as Compabloc, Orthobloc, Multibloc, Planibloc or Manubloc.
Always conscious of the needs of industry, Leroy Somer has always had a range of brake motors in its range.
Nor are the brakes purchased from an outside source and simply fitted to the motors, they are an integral part of the design.
The FCR range of brake motors will prove particularly attractive in a wide range of applications where safe and secure braking is essential.
They will be a major contributor to increased safety in the workplace and further extend the already wide range of motor and gearbox solutions available from Leroy Somer.
