To complement and extend the functionality of its extensive range of barcode readers and vision systems Leuze Mayser has added a series of two-dimensional code readers that are available as position scanners or lightweight handheld guns.

The new high-resolution Leuze Mayser 2D code readers are particularly suitable for reading 2D codes such as data matrix codes on directly marked components.

A significant advantage of the new code readers is use of a Windows-based setup program for configuration, creating scope for faster adjustment to new and modified applications.

The permanently mounted 2D code reader Visionreader 2300 has a powerful decoder with a processing speed of 300MIPS, enabling it to read codes such as Data-matrix ECC 200 and PDF 417.

Technical advances contained within this model ensure accurate code recognition even where visual contrast conditions are poor.

The new Visionreader 2300 has a compact housing, and as standard has RS232 interface, digital switching inputs, digital switching outputs and an integrated LED lighting system.

The latest in a new breed of handheld readers from Leuze Mayser is Visionreader 6300, which has the same high reading quality as the fixed units but obviously brings greater flexibility to many applications due to its freedom of movement.

The new development complies with an ever-increasing demand for comprehensive component tracing, for example among suppliers to the automotive industry where economy and reading reliability have to go hand in hand, and are increasingly being applied directly onto the individual components.

Both new developments are a welcome addition to the Leuze Mayser range of photoelectric sensors and scanners.

They will bring further tracking efficiencies and quality control procedures throughout manufacturing and logistical operations.
