Leuze launches small photoelectric fork sensor

A Leuze Electronic product story

Leuze Electronic's GS61 and GS63 optical fork sensor ranges offer improved performance in a more compact case.

These fork sensors have a 'flat bottom' feature, which enables the sensor to be mounted closer to the dispensing edge, providing improved response times and repeatability.

The sensors are specially designed for the detection of non-transparent labels and can be used for a wide range of applications, including the processing of booklets or folded labels.

The extremely flat lower fork slim-line design enables simple installation directly at the dispensing edge and in installation situations with very limited space.

The GS61 a small industrial fork photoelectric sensor for label technology.

Its design is said to aid easy installation with very visible markings to enable fast alignment of the label tape.

Its connection options of fixed cable or M8 connector with either a horizontal or vertical outlet are also designed for ease of installation within small spaces.

Sensitivity adjustment of the GS61 is performed via the push-button 'teach-in' function or via a potentiometer depending on the model, both of which are performed without the need for tools.

On the potentiometer models, the tuning head can be removed to prevent manipulation once in situ.

On the GS63, the teach button can be locked via the teach input for the same reason.

The GS63 is characterised by a particularly high switching frequency and short response time, guaranteeing excellent repeatability, said Leuze.

The ALC (auto level control) also contributes to an improvement in functional reliability.

This enables the sensor to automatically correct the switching threshold itself during operation, in the case of material differences between labels of the same type.
