A new Higher National module (nationally recognised SQA certified short course) on "mathematics for engineers" is now available by distance learning.

The course is designed to equip the student with the understanding and knowledge of the mathematical requirements of the technology units.

This module covers: trigonometric identities and their applications; algebraic transformations and equations involving logarithmic and exponential terms; complex numbers; and differentiation and integration of standard functions.

The module is aimed at technician/engineer/supervisor level and is worth one credit towards an HNC in electrical, electronics, multidiscipline, mechanical, instrumentation or chemical process engineering.

An HNC in engineering consists of 12 credits (SQA/university accredited).
