Tables position cost-effective
performance

UniSlide and BiSlide positioning tables are aimed at medium precision manufacturing and research applications where cost and performance are highly important considerations.

LG Motion's UniSlide and BiSlide positioning tables, available with manual or motorised drives, are aimed at medium precision manufacturing and research applications where cost and performance are highly important considerations In comparison with linear tables with integral ball or roller based linear bearings, UniSlide and BiSlide's simple yet effective bonded polymer bearing pads are highly durable with excellent load/wear characteristics and form the basis for a more competitive solution

Unislide and BiSlide tables also offer a higher resistance to impact loads and the natural wiping action of the bearing expels debris that may otherwise cause damage in ball or cross roller designs.

The bearings are also nonmagnetic which can be advantageous for critical measurement and test applications; in addition the 303 grade stainless steel lead screw can be replaced with nonferrous steel or brass on request.

Further advantages of Unislide and BiSlide tables are high corrosion resistance and the ability to operate without lubrication, both of which can be significant factors with direct influence on table maintenance and life.

The UniSlide range covers more than 1000 standard single-axis options in eight stage widths from 38 to 228mm with travel ranges from a few millimeters to more than 2m.

Multi-axis assemblies are straightforward with a large selection of standard adapter plates making interfacing easy; customised adapter plates and special brackets can be made to order.

The modular and uncomplicated dovetail bearing and extruded aluminium design is well suited to almost any positioning system configuration from basic hand-wheel-driven x-y tables to large scale, motorised dual-axis gantries in horizontal or vertical orientation.

LG Motion's UniSlide range has choices of 0.5, 1.0 or 2.0mm pitch lead screws in standard or precision grade, offering a maximum positional accuracy of 10um per 100mm of travel.

Low backlash is ensured with a thrust bearing and preloaded nut arrangement.

Higher positional accuracy, resolution and repeatability are possible with an optional linear glass-scale encoder feedback system.

Recommended direct payloads of up to 60kg are supported in the largest width model with a maximum direct load or cantilevered equivalent load of up to 200kg on request.

The UniSlide range is normally supplied in unfinished 6061 grade aluminium with an option of hard anodised, black anodised or nickel-plated versions.

The BiSlide table is based on an extruded I-beam aluminium profile with dual 45 degree opposing V-ways, with high rigidity in all load directions.

Using low friction bonded PTFE compound bearing pads on the moving carriage with fully adjustable preload, BiSlides may assembled in almost any multi-axis orientation with integrated T-slots providing interfacing with simple cleats and bolts rather than adapter plates; saving cost and further simplifying positioning system design.

BiSlide's are available with a choice of 1.0 or 2.0mm pitch, precision-grade acme lead screws with thrust bearing support.

A special StabilNut nut assembly with externally adjustable preload simplifies manual and motorised application setup.

The range is supplied in a single width with a cross section of 38.6 x 87.0mm and travel lengths from 125mm to 2m; repeatability is within 5um and straight-line accuracy is 75um over the entire travel distance.

Maximum direct loading capability is around 140kg with values for cantilever loading available on request.

Both Unislide and BiSlide tables are designed for medium duty positioning applications where reliability, simplicity and ease of configuration are important factors.

Both ranges can be fitted with bellows or way covers protection and customised versions include slides with multiple carriages and opposed direction lead screws.

Vacuum compatible and other specialist application versions are available with a wide range of complementary rotary tables offered to complete multi-axis application requirements.

Manual versions of UniSlide and BiSlide tables are available with hand-wheel or micrometer drive units and motorised tables are supplied as complete assemblies with stepper or servomotors with over-travel and datum switches fitted to order.

In addition, LG Motion is able to supply a wide range of amplifiers and motion controllers to suit the customers' application requirements.
