New approach to eddy current measurement
The ECL100 is the first in a new series of eddy current measurement systems.
Lion Precision's new Inductive division has released its first in a series of eddy current measurement systems, the ECL100.
The ECL100 driver's linear voltage and current outputs provide precision measurement throughout a probe's calibrated range.
A new, extremely low noise circuit design yields a static resolution of 0.004% of full-scale output.
The ECL100 features a unique, multicolour LED probe position indicator and local/remote zeroing capability to facilitate easy installation and setup.
The driver is packaged in a small DIN rail mountable, shielded enclosure with screw terminal connections.
The ECL100 is available with Lion Precision Inductive's new modular inductive probes, including 3, 5, 8 and 12mm sizes.
18, 25, 38 and 50mm probes are planned.
Specifications (based on an aluminium target) include: frequency response up to 80kHz (selectable); nonlinearityof +/-0.25% full scale; thermal coefficient of +/-0.04%FS/C; output options of 0-10V DC and 0-20mA; environmental rating of IP67 for the probes and IP40 for the driver IP40 (CE pending).
The ECL100 runs from a power supply range from +12 to +24V DC, drawing typically 130mA at 15V DC.
The unit measures 75 x 22.5 x 107.5mm.
The ECL100 will be demonstrated at Sensors Expo in Chicago in June.
