Piezosystem Jena has developed a new style of piezo actuator, which is available from UK distributor Linos Photonics.

Piezosystem Jena has developed a new style of piezo actuator, which is available from UK distributor Linos Photonics.

Especially designed for permanent use in industrial applications, the PZ 10 piezoelectric stage not only offers a vertical stroke of up to 10um, but by using solid state flexure joints, resolution in the subnanometre range is easily achieved.

The combination of this new rugged design, along with high stiffness (4.5kHz resonant frequency) and a maximum push/pull force of 4000N, means that this stage is suited to a wide range of applications.

This rugged, yet compact stage (36 x 36 x 15mm) is available in both open and closed loop formats.

There are also various controller options designed to match the individual application need, as well as being easily integrated in any existing system.

Along with the ability to perform high frequency movements, all these features exhibit a very cost effective solution for high load applications.
