Amplifier enables subnanometre resolution

A Linos Photonics product story

Three-axis piezo amplifier is made by Piezosystem Jena specifically for low voltage piezo elements with external measurement systems.

New from Linos Photonics is the NV40/3CL, a three-axis piezo amplifier made by Piezosystem Jena specifically for low voltage piezo elements with external measurement systems.

Within a compact design this new three-channel amplifier includes voltage amplifier, closed loop control, and display, along with PC-interface.

The high-resolution display shows the position of the actuator along with information such as mode of operation, and the temperature inside the amplifier.

This piezo amplifier also provides the opportunity to operate the piezo element via an analogue modulation input, and the position of the actuator can be examined via the monitor output.

Due to the very low voltage noise of the output (0.3mV RMS) this amplifier system is ideally suited for positioning applications requiring subnanometre resolution.

Using PSJ's new soft start function combined with special protective circuits to prevent voltage spikes we can ensure an actuator-safe activation of the system.

For high stability applications this controller also uses electronic PID control to eliminate drift and hysteresis.
