Listgrove reports a surge in skills demand for UK plastics and a growth in enquiries for its services.

Listgrove reports a surge in skills demand for UK plastics and a growth in enquiries for its services.

Conrad Taylor, Director Executive Services says: "There are some clear signs of a very upbeat mood out there - at least among small to medium sized plastic moulders in niche and quick turnaround markets".

"Many of those companies that have weathered the tough business climate of the past few years are now looking to upskill their teams and recruit new people - and we are in a key position to assist them".

Listgrove has been exhibiting at the Plastics Design and Moulding Exhibition in Telford.

The company reports a significant number of new recruitment assignments from companies visiting the Listgrove stand: "The PDM 06 show has exceeded our expectations", says Listgrove Managing Director Jason Markham.

"And we have a significant number of leads and orders to follow through".

"More than one of these projects requires multistaffing in new kinds of plastics processing technologies".

"In the last few weeks there has also been a steady rise in enquiries and in demand for skilled technical and scientific staff".

"This September has also seen a real increase for us in retained company assignments", adds Markham.

Markham says that this year's PDM exhibition "has already introduced us to new faces - corporate and candidate - in the marketplace; all with varying needs - from finding a better job; to finding skilled and creative staff; or - an increasing role for us - to helping and training companies in various HR fields and functions".

This year has seen Listgrove launch a set of fully outsourced human resource services - from staff management and coaching, to competency based frameworks, training, HR administration and many other functions.

Listgrove's provision of this range of HR services has come about in response to a rising demand from the market.

Markham notes: "We're still seeing customer growth in plastics sectors such as medical, pharmaceutical and automotive".

"There's a need for a highly skilled supply base out there - and we are doing our best to help plastics suppliers provide it".

"Current business, as ever, is extremely competitive for the contract manufacturer and trade moulder - and so we hope that our contributions on the people and skills side continue to help our clients make a difference and gain an edge".
