Launching a new website today, Dale Baumann of Lakes System Design is proud of the talent that the Lakes Design group now represents.

"We have members that have worked with Fortune 500 companies like Seagate and Honeywell, and grass-roots designers that have designed severe-service heavy metal for the underground mining and offshore marine industries", says Baumann, himself a packaging and sorting designer with a history in aircraft maintenance systems.

Some designers get involved to gain exposure to promote their contract design, others get involved to promote their company's capabilities and build business, but everyone involved has a professional tie to one another.

"It's a collaboration organisation", says Jeff Hunt, a Senior Engineer with TUV Rheinland of North America's Machinery Safety Division.

"The Lakes Design Group is not a supplier of engineering or project management services, but rather a network of professionals that have banded together in successful business in the past, and work to provide that same level of service and success in our capacity at our current positions, or sometimes under direct hire or contract".

"We often collaborate on tough design questions to improve simplicity of design, and reduce development time".

Lakes Design's code of ethics of course enforces strict noncompetition and nondisclosure rules.

They are a group of professionals that work to collectively improve their personal and corporate capabilities and ultimately deliver a superior service to their clients.

Baumann sums up the collaborative technical group: "We are basically a group of engineers that believe that more sets of eyes on a problem means more suggestions, faster solutions, and better designs".

"We have engineers that worked for Fingerhut and Schwan's Automation, engineers that have set Guinness World Records with their heavy industrial designs, and engineers that have worked in the semiconductor industry for companies like Seagate and automation group Mozak Systems".
