The Lemo broadcast camera range includes the established triaxial connectors and new fibre-optic connectors.

A new range of high performance fibre-optic camera connectors have been developed to meet the needs of the new generation of digital TV cameras meeting SEMPTE, ARIB and EBU standards.

The use of fibre optics increases the transmission distances of digital signals from the camera to the basestation at a much higher level of definition.

The 3K.93C connector has been fully tested, is TUV approved and is used in international events transmissions and in applications such as the Sony BVP9500 super slow motion camera and CCU.

All connectors are based on the rugged, reliable Lemo push-pull latching system.

This system enables the connectors to be mated by simply pushing together, after which it provides a safe connection that cannot be disrupted by pulling on the cable.

Disconnection is achieved by pushing back the outer latch sleeve.

An integrally machined spring on the female contact within the connector gives a constant even force on the contact and ensures a reliable repeatable connection.

Housing options include in-line plugs and in-line receptacles suitable for 8, 11 and 14mm triaxial cables; panel sockets, including the camera connector, panel-mounted plugs for CCUs, walls or outside broadcast van tailboards as well as bulkhead sockets and adaptors, for both inside and outside broadcast applications around the world.

The 4M Series of triaxial connectors is specifically designed for harsh environments.

This reliable and versatile model has been adopted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) as its standard camera connector.

Its rugged construction and IP66 protection rating mean that it's ideal for use in demanding outside broadcast conditions.

Housings have a mechanical guide to avoid both connector/contact rotation and signal interruption.

Other triaxial connectors from Lemo include the REDEL F Series, similar to the 4M Series, these connectors are fully intermateable with the 1051 A004 Series and are for UK and European markets.

For use in France, the 3T Series of 75ohm coax and triaxial connectors are fully intermateable with the ULC Series size III (coaxial) and size III TCX75 (triaxial) models.

There is also the 4E Series of triaxial connectors that, as well as camera links, are commonly used for microwave links in broadcast operations throughout Europe.

For the USA and associated markets, Lemo offers the 4A Series of triaxial connectors.

Similar to the 4M Series, these are compatible with the Kings Tri-Loc KP80 Series.

A full range of accessories is available, including cable strain reliefs, blanking caps and waterproof strain reliefs with caps.

Lemo also offers a cable termination service and for fibre-optic connectors this includes full optical test facilities to ensure a first class connection.
