Throughout the codevelopment projects, LMS Engineering will work with Jiangling engineers to optimise the NVH performance of multiple Jiangling vehicles, based on an Isuzu pickup and light truck and a Ford Transit.
The contract of these turnkey projects stipulates the contractual commitment of LMS to guarantee that the pass-by noise characteristics of these vehicles will comply with Chinese legislation.
At the same time, LMS will reduce the vehicles' interior noise levels and improve their comfort standards.
Next to executing prototype modifications, LMS will communicate with Jiangling's suppliers to assist these parties in producing components and subsystems with the right NVH characteristics.
The involved technology transfer from LMS to Jiangling envisages a much broader spectrum than the scope of the ongoing projects, as LMS engineers also introduce effective integrated CAE-driven vehicle development processes.
Xiao Liling, Vice President of Jiangling's Product Development Centre, commented: "Over the last 25 years, LMS built up extensive expertise by participating in codevelopment projects with the majority of the world's leading automotive OEMs.
The credibility gained through its worldwide engineering operations convinced Jiangling to partner with LMS and to optimise the NVH performance of the vehicles we bring to the Chinese market".
Dirk De Vis, Vice President of LMS Engineering Services, stated: "LMS has the outstanding full-vehicle and multi-attribute engineering capability to accomplish all Jiangling's targets and the experience to efficiently share its technological expertise with the engineering teams of Jiangling.
This important codevelopment contract is a strategic step in LMS's expansion in China's emerging automotive market". Request free introductory details about products from LMS International ...
