Jet programme adopts Virtual Lab
First Aircraft Institute of Avic-1, a Chinese aerospace research institute, has deployed multiple licences of LMS Virtual Lab to support the ARJ21 advanced regional jet programme.
The First Aircraft Institute (FAI) of Avic-1, an aerospace research institute in China, has deployed multiple licences of LMS Virtual Lab to support the development of the ARJ21 advanced regional jet programme Developed by FAI to meet China's growing need for air transportation, the ARJ21 will accommodate up to 100 passengers and will be available in freight, business jet, stretch and extended-range versions

Improvements to the art of noise (and vibration)
LMS International has upgraded its Test.Lab integrated software suite for noise and vibration testing and engineering.
FAI deployed the Virtual Lab simulation suite to support the design and engineering of the aircraft body and the landing gear system.
The software being implemented by FAI includes Virtual Lab Structures for finite-element pre- and post-processing driving external solvers such as Nastran, Virtual Lab Motion for the dynamic performance simulation of components and subsystems, Virtual Lab Acoustics for the analysis of interior and exterior noise, and Virtual Lab Optimisation for the automated evaluation of design alternatives.
FAI designers and engineers valued the integration of the different applications in one user environment.
Until now, simulation was performed with stand-alone programs, involving time and effort spent on transferring data and models between software packages and reworking simulation models.
Virtual Lab streamlines the different simulation tasks.
FAI also expects to benefit from the seamless integration between Virtual Lab and Catia V5, which is used in the aircraft design process.
This integration lets development engineers perform analysis tasks in the same environment, starting from the initial CAD model.
This lets designers perform simulations on individual component designs so they can identify and correct potential problems, explore alternatives and optimise their designs early in the development process. Request free introductory details about products from LMS International ...
