LMS International and the Tongji University Automotive College in China are collaborating in the Tongji-LMS Automotive NVH and Durability Technology Centre at Tongji University in Shanghai.

LMS International and the Tongji University Automotive College in China have signed a technology co-operation agreement to establish the Tongji-LMS Automotive NVH and Durability Technology Centre at the new campus of Tongji University in Shanghai The co-operation gives LMS access to the state-of-the-art test facilities for NVH and durability engineering at Tongji University, and will extend the capabilities of LMS Engineering Service to execute vehicle development projects for its automotive customers in China

Through this co-operation, Tongji and LMS will also establish a joint research centre for automotive technology and engineering, with a specific focus to increase the technology knowhow of the Chinese automotive industry in terms of NVH, durability and handling.

Tongji University recently established one of the most comprehensive NVH and durability labs for automotive engineering in China, and hosts an extensive infrastructure for virtual simulation.

The new testing facility comprises an NVH chassis dyno, which is fit for in room pass-by noise testing, an NVH driveline dyno, several engine dyno's, a multi-axis shaker table, and an axle durability rig.

In addition to its modern facilities, the university also hosts a well-qualified education team and offers a broad expertise in automotive engineering.

Tongji University and LMS decided to join forces because LMS' extensive solutions portfolio, service capabilities and technology leadership complement the knowhow and technology capabilities at Tongji University.

To support the strong growth of its engineering services activities in China, LMS gains strategic access to the new facilities.

Through the co-operation, LMS can perform advanced testing assignments at the automotive technology centre and offer a complete local support in the execution of co-development or troubleshooting projects for the Chinese automotive industry.

LMS will also support the centre in its research and training activities with knowhow, software and testing systems.

The technology centre will focus on introducing advanced research and development technology for automotive engineering into the China automotive industry.

The centre will carry out extensive research projects on automotive development topics.

The areas of co-operation include physical prototype testing and virtual prototype simulation for attributes like NVH, acoustics, structural dynamics, ride and handling and durability. Request free introductory details about products from LMS International ...
