Pumping system shifts Swedish poultry
waste
Landia has completed an installation in Sweden of a new pumping system, which chops, macerates and stores poultry waste byproducts on site.
Landia has completed an installation in Sweden of a new pumping system, which chops, macerates and stores poultry waste byproducts on site Until recently, a lorry had to call upon the poultry processor every night to take away 8t of waste, comprising carcasses, feet, guts and heads
Beforehand, this organic byproduct, used for mink and pet food, first had to be frozen for at least 12 hours to prevent it from rotting.
Now, the very same Swedish company saves significantly on costs as it requires only one poultry waste collection per week, and the material, kept fresh, is of a consistency where it can be conveniently pumped directly into the vehicle's tanker - compared with costly and laborious manual methods.
