Cutter pump goes the distance
A new high-pressure cutter pump for long distance pumping of heavily contaminated liquids has been developed by Landia.
As part of a dissolved air flotation system designed and manufactured by Poole-based Puriflo, a 2.2kW Landia POP-1 150rev/min mixer is successfully preventing sedimentation in a balance tank.
Designed with a large, swept-back propeller, the gentle action of the POP-1 avoids floc shear.
Odours are eliminated, and there is also the benefit of considerable energy savings.
Ron Lunney, Technical Director at Puriflo, a division of Robin Hawkins Engineering, commented: "This is just the latest of many successful installations where we have used Landia mixers".
"They are very reliable indeed, and we always get very good, co-operative service".
