Software simulates RF dispersion for
NIMBYs
Now available in Europe exclusively from Link Microtek is Telstra's MBSFIP software package, which provides a clear graphical representation of the RF field intensity around cellular basestations.
Now available in Europe exclusively from Link Microtek is Telstra's MBSFIP software package, which provides a clear graphical representation of the RF field intensity around cellular basestations Designed to be easily understood even by the general public, the simple coloured plots are calculated from site variables such as the type, height, bearing and tilt of antenna, feeder and system losses, transmission power, and number of RF carriers

RF radiation logged for up to 40 hours
A new radio-frequency radiation monitor incorporates a data logging function that enables the unit to store up to 30,000 data points for subsequent downloading and analysis on a PC.
Brochure covers low-frequency radiation monitoring
A new brochure from Basingstoke-based Link Microtek provides a useful overview of the various products and services that the company can offer in the area of low-frequency radiation monitoring.
Typically, it takes only a matter of minutes for an engineer to input the site characteristics.
The software then calculates the surrounding RF emission levels and displays them as a function of distance from the base station.
An elevation plot can also be generated at user-selected points, enabling the field strength in nearby high-rise buildings to be determined.
By providing this information in a format that is easily understood by local authorities and residents, the software reduces the uncertainty about emission levels and helps to reassure all parties about the safety of RF site development and operation.
Compatible with all Windows-based PCs, MBSFIP includes a comprehensive library of standard antenna patterns and a cumulative emission level facility for use at sites that are shared with other operators.
Emission levels are displayed in either polar or rectangular format, with a choice of five standard units or as a percentage of ICNIRP public exposure limits.
The graphical plots can be overlaid on local maps using standard graphics software.
