The German bank Norddeutsche Landesbank has chosen open, interoperable LonWorks technology and LonMark certified products for its newest state-of-the-art office building in Magdeburg, Germany.
As the Executive Director, Haaser is responsible for the day-to-day management of the global 300-plus member association.
Prior to joining the LonMark Association, Haaser was the Vice President of Marketing at Alacritech, a provider of network and storage acceleration solutions, where he defined and managed the company's marketing activities, including business development, product marketing and marketing communications.
Before joining Alacritech, Haaser was Director of Marketing Communications at Saratoga Systems, a leading customer relationship management solutions provider, where he led efforts to reposition the company, launch new products, and reinvigorate marketing programmes for the company's full suite of customer support, sales and marketing software.
Most notably for the LonMark Association, Haaser spent 11 years with Echelon Corp, the leading supplier of control network products and the developer of the LonWorks technology that forms the basis for the LonMark Association's definition of open interoperable networking.
While with Echelon, Haaser held a variety of marketing and management positions.
While at Echelon he co-authored the company's business plan, orchestrated its launch, participated in various standards and industry initiatives, established its marketing presence in Europe, and assisted with its IPO.
Prior to Echelon, Haaser worked for the industry research firms Dataquest and Gnostic Concepts.
Haaser holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from San Jose State University.
"I believe that the combination of my broad range of marketing expertise combined with my industry knowledge from my tenure at Echelon gives me a unique skill set with which to lead the organisation", said Haaser.
"I have a global understanding of the issues, politics and challenges facing the LonMark Interoperability Association and I am looking forward to making the kind of changes that will not only encourage growth of the organisation itself, but also continue to drive the industry toward true open systems and interoperability".
