Lovejoy will be exhibiting at Power Gen International, the world's largest trade show for the power generation industry, in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 6th to 8th December 2005 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Lovejoy upholds an international reputation as the leading company specialising in flexible coupling design and development.

Lovejoy products are available worldwide through distributors in North America and 55 other countries, supported by Lovejoy offices and support staff in Canada, Europe and the USA.

Lovejoy is sponsoring a 3 x 6m booth in space 2571.

At this show, Lovejoy, will concentrate on its grid-style, gear, disc and high-speed couplings.

These coupling lines comprise just a portion of the hundreds of styles available to customers through Lovejoy.

The Power-Gen show typically draws more than 15,000 visitors representing power generation facilities that rely on a wide range of energy sources, including coal-fired power plants, nuclear facilities, oil and natural gas plants, water, wind and solar.

Product Development Manager and team leader Kevin Remack said: "It can be publicly embarrassing for a power or utility company to suffer breakdowns in the midst of bad weather or a prolonged heat wave".

"The right choice of coupling can mean the difference between a power generation facility that operates at maximum efficiency and generates the best return on investment, or a minimally producing plant constantly hovering on the edge of breakdowns or failures".

"Our engineers are here to help with the right choice of coupling, whether for a team working on designs and systems for a new or revamped facility, or replacement couplings for the maintenance engineers charged with keeping existing plants operating to their greatest potential".

In addition to providing expert consultation to engineers working on newer power generation facilities, Lovejoy, also offers a unique service to facilities working with older model equipment in need of coupling replacement.

Many peaker stations rely on turbines that are rapidly gaining on 20 or more years of age.

Multiple system failures point out the need for coupling replacement.

Lovejoy possesses more than 3000 mechanical drawings and blueprints of every style of engine ever used in a US-based coal-fired power plant or peaker station.

"This is easily the most extensive library of turbine type couplings anyone in the industry can find", says Remack.

Based on these essential documents, engineers can then recommend the best style and type of coupling to promote greatest energy efficiency while protecting and lengthening the lifetime of existing connected equipment.
