Laser proximity sensors span the range
Laser Components has extended its range of noncontact proximity sensors for precision measurement applications.
To meet the ever-increasing demand for improved quality, safety and consistency required by engineers, managers and ultimately customers, higher standards are required of components used in the manufacture of products Laser Components has extended its range of noncontact proximity sensors for precision measurement applications

Laser alignment resolves to 0.01mm
The OT-6000 alignment laser system from On-Trak provides simultaneous, real-time measurement of multiple targets along a single reference laser line over a distance of approximately 100m.
The sensors use laser sources with position sensitive detectors and use triangulation-based techniques for measurement.
Measurement ranges are now possible from 2 to 800mm with 1% reproducibility of the measurement range.
The sensors are constructed to meet IP65 standards for dust and water ingress, and are robustly built for use in industrial environments.
The sensor electronics perform the triangulation processing and provides an output proportional to the measurement.
This output is possible in several forms: 4-20mA, 0-10V or digital display.
It is also possible to set up upper and lower switching outputs.
The sensors are ideally suited to process and quality assurance applications.
Typical uses for the sensors include height/width/thickness measurements, position measurements, edge detection, and with multiple sensors angle/tilt measurements.
