Morgan Advanced Ceramics, based in Stourport-on-Severn, needed to create a brand new ceramic injection moulding facility to serve the needs of a major customer.
The company provides engineered ceramic solutions to a worldwide customer base in sectors ranging from fluid handling and white goods to defence, aerospace and medical.
Mark Moore, Morgan's General Manager at Stourport-on-Severn, said: "I knew that Lorien had the capacity to provide exactly what we needed, in a relatively short period of time".
"They delivered on time, and gave added value, particularly in terms of health and safety management and keeping costs to a minimum".
"We knew that our internal resources didn't have the time or the necessary skills to undertake such a huge task, and Lorien proved themselves more than up to the job".
The project involved the complete refurbishment of three separate areas of the facility via a programme of phased implementation.
Lorien Project Manager Rudy Menzhausen explained: "From the outset, we worked very closely with the Morgan team to ensure that, by the end of construction works in phase one, they were able to go into small volume production".
"Existing factory production had to be maintained throughout the entire construction process.
Flexibility and working in partnership were key to completing the project on time".
Lorien Engineering Solutions is a multidisciplinary engineering design and project management organisation.
The company has a staff of more than 60 specialists who design and deliver manufacturing capital projects and performance improvement consultancy in the brewing, drinks, food and pharmaceutical industries.
Working for many of the world's top manufacturing organisations within the UK and overseas, the company was recently presented with the President's Award for occupational health and safety in construction by RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), the company's 13th successive top-level safety award.
