Larox pump improves ferrocement

A Larox Flowsys product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 21, 2008

A Larox LPP-T40 pump was chosen for dosing duties by a Dutch ferrocement processor.

As a result, working conditions have improved and dosing of concrete mass has become more accurate.

The customer uses moulds for manufacturing pre-fab products.

The Larox pump transfers concrete from mixer hopper and fills up these moulds.

Conventional hose pump was also tested in this abrasive duty but it could not give satisfactory hose life.

Since using LPP the work has become cleaner, lighter and dosing more accurate (with less waste).

Before installation of the Larox LPP pump, a bowl lifted by crane was used with a sort of mechanical slide valve.

It required a lot of handwork, which was also very dirty.

Ferrocement is an innovative kind of cement with other properties as the common known concrete.

It is a composite material, which is used in building with cement, sand, water and wire or mesh material.

This material has great strength and economy, and it enables lighter constructions, for example, lighter balconies and other constructions of a building.
