Laserdyne Systems has received an order from a leading North American defence contractor totalling in excess of $2.5 million.

Laserdyne Systems has received an order from a leading North American defence contractor totalling in excess of $2.5 million.

Paolo Cigna, President of Prima North America, announced receipt of the order saying it was the single largest order received in the company's 22 year history.

"This order is a milestone for Laserdyne Systems because of its size", stated Cigna.

"It proves once again a leading customer's commitment to our precision, multi-axis laser systems and to Laserdyne's expertise in developing solutions to difficult laser processing applications".

The order is for multiple systems that will be used for welding applications.

They incorporate Laserdyne's unique System 94 laser process control with dual CPUs and Windows NT operating system.

The System 94 integrates the laser and motion control functions, provides real time laser process data collection for statistical process control, and supports integration of laser systems into a factory network.

The laser systems will be the first shipped from the company's new facilities, which it occupied beginning this year.

With over 250 multi-axis laser systems in use worldwide, the company's products have become the standard in the aerospace industry and are used in turbine engine manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe and Asia.
