Optical focus control enhances laser processing
Laserdyne's new patent pending optical focus control (OFC) feature is now available for all 790 BeamDirector systems.
"This organisational change will help insure a smooth transition to the management team that was put in place during my last 5-year tenure as President and CEO of the company, along with other profound changes made after the acquisitions of Convergent Energy and the Laserdyne business, amid the general economy recession of the years 2001-2002".
VanderWert rejoined Laserdyne at the beginning of 2003, where he previously served for over 15 years, as vice president in charge of this business unit within Prima North America.
He has held a number of management positions with Laserdyne over his 18-year career with the company.
During that time, he was responsible for the introduction of many of the company's very successful BeamDirector products, including the models 780, 890 and 790.
He was a key member of the product teams that successfully established the Laserdyne BeamDirector products as a standard in the aerospace industry.
VanderWert is a licensed professional engineer and has held management positions in metallurgical research.
He has a master's degree in metallurgy and materials science from the University of Minnesota.
"In the last three years, Prima North America, which provides industrial lasers, multi-axis precision laser processing systems for turbines engine manufacturing and other applications in the aerospace industry worldwide and distributorship services in North America for a wide range of 2D and 3D sheet metal CO2 laser cutting systems manufactured by Prima Industries, has grown at an average rate of approximately 20%", Cigna reported.
"I am very confident that VanderWert, who did very well with managing the Laserdyne division in the last three years, will help strengthen management and improve innovation and efficiency throughout the entire company in his new position".
