New developments in the hardware and software of the T-Scan laser scanner have made 3D data acquisition even easier and more efficient.

New developments in the hardware and software of the T-Scan laser scanner have made 3D data acquisition even easier and more efficient.

The extremely compact and mobile system configuration is the optimum solution for applications that require enhanced mobility, for example in the area of automobile interiors and exteriors.

By integrating the control unit for the scanner and the tracking system into a compact trolley and a notebook PC, the system is easy to transport even where space is limited.

The tracking system, in conjunction with a tripod, is also highly compact and transportable.

The innovative handle of the scanner, which now also features a more lightweight design with integrated cable routing, provides for a particularly ergonomic scanning procedure; in addition, the point density and data quality of the T-Scan system could be further increased thanks to new laser electronics.

The new 5.0 version of the T-Scanplus software supports the static and dynamic measurement of 3D polylines by means of an optically tracked touch probe; this allows the quick measurement of contours and surface lines.

Combined with the function for generating and exporting NURBS curves from the measured polylines, this feature is particularly useful for measurement tasks in the design area.

Additional new features comprise the online verification of the scanner calibration and an infra-red marker function for the user-friendly monitoring of the measuring system as well as a COM interface for direct data transfer to external inspection software programs.

The current positions of both the scanner and the touch probe can be displayed on the monitor.
