Mass flowmeters become the industrial norm
Thermal mass flow regulators and mass flowmeters for gases are now among the standard instruments used in industrial laboratory and production processes.
The company has been working on a number of oil and gas projects with Petrobras.
Two VFF-LF15 rotary piston positive displacement flow meters have been supplied to contractor Ultratec/Projemar for Petrobras floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) P47 destined for the Marlin field development in the Campos basin off Rio de Janeiro.
The flow meters are measuring Scale inhibitor injection rates from 1 to 20 litre/h with pressures up to 5000kPa in a zone 2 hazardous area.
In addition, Metroval and Litre Meter are working on a partnership agreement to allow Metroval to manufacture some of the Litre Meter range of chemical injection flow meters in Brazil for supply to the P51 to P56 FPSO building programme currently under way.
This is a two-year project worth up to GBP 1 million for Litre Meter and if successful will prove to be the largest chemical injection flow meter project yet undertaken by the company.
