New and improved applications allow users to reuse 3D engineering data in both interactive and print media for downstream needs.

Lattice Technology has released a range of new updates to its product family.

Lattice's XVL products offer the industry's widest range of applications that allow both engineering and nonengineering users to reuse 3D engineering data in both interactive and print media for downstream needs such as digital assembly, digital mock-up, training, assembly instructions, user manuals, maintenance and repair instructions, marketing and more.

XVL is the industry-leading 3D publishing file format that enables 3D data to be used intelligently, downstream.

Lattice's newly enhanced products include: XVL Studio Pro version 7.1, XVL Play Pro version 9.0, XVL 3ds max convertor version 3.1, XVL Filter version 5.3, XVL Processor version 2.1 and XVL Reducer version 2.1.

XVL Player 9.0 introduces the next generation of XVL Player with enhanced features including: easy to use measurement, cross-section profiles of 3D data, assembly tree information and updated security features.

XVL Player 9.0 also features an interface and tool bars that are consistent with XVL Studio.

XVL Studio 7.1 includes many new features and updates for greater productivity, including STEP file input/output, direct input of CAD data, 3D PDF Export, Windows Vista support, orthographic view, dotted line view for hidden line, easier part movement, profile toolbar, as well as animation target selection by drag and drop.

Lattice Technology has also released updates to the System Toolkit, which includes the XVL Filter, XVL Processor and XVL Reducer tools.

The company has also released Lattice3D Outliner, a dedicated tool for creating 2D technical illustrations directly from 3D data.

Outliner is a stand-alone application, based on the XVL Studio platform, and delivers the ability to rapidly and easily create and publish technical illustrations with exploded views, call outs, user controlled line weights and more.

Purchase price for Lattice3D Outliner is US $1995.

"It is always exciting to see new releases that reflect a mix of innovation and customer requested enhancements", says Bill Barnes Lattice Technology General Manager.

"I expect that our existing customers and prospective customers will be very happy with the new functionality and increased productivity it will bring".

Lattice Technology's existing users subscribing to active maintenance will be able to receive the product family of updates free of charge.
