Speedy calibration cuts downtime
Livingston reckons it has achieved possibly the quickest calibration turnaround times in the industry.
The proprietary online system - officially launched in March 2001 as part of Livingston's Calibration Management Service - has filled a void by offering its users many advantages throughout the calibration process.
For example, the system can automatically inform customers when equipment is due for calibration.
Customers can then log on to the password-controlled site to start their calibration process by scheduling collections.
Once they have scheduled their calibration work they can access real-time work-in-progress reports allowing them to quickly and easily check their equipment's calibration status.
On completion all calibration results, reports and certificates are stored online in a paperless database for easy access.
The web-based calibration management system was developed in line with Livingston's overall business aim of continuously providing customers with innovative solutions that save time, money and resources.
Livingston themselves use the system to manage their own extensive test and measurement equipment inventory, the largest in Europe.
"As the leading independent calibration player in Europe, our Calibration Management Service offers a lot more than just calibration and it allows our customers to avoid heavy investment in the administrative and logistic burden of equipment management", explains Masten Evans, Operations Manager, Livingston UK.
