Compact valves boast boosted airflow

In line with industry trends toward smaller pneumatic valves with higher flow rates, Rexroth has introduced the compact TC valve series, which is some 40% smaller than rival models.

Available as single or block valves for both pneumatic and electrical operation, the TC series is available in two sizes, TC08 and TC15, and offers a series of standard fittings for connecting the air and power supplies.

The TC08 model can reach a flow rate of 800 litre/min/, yet measures less than 17mm in width and 49mm in height, and the larger TC15 valve delivers up to 1500 litre/min, at just 21mm wide and 58.5mm high.

Dispensing with the conventional baseplates means further savings on height and weight on complete valve blocks and the method of assembly allows single units to be exchanged without dismantling.

Conceived as a modern, lightweight and low cost alternative to standard metal-body-ported valves, the TC valve series is ideal for controlling linear or rotary actuators, within the 2.5 to 10bar operating pressure range.

It is designed and built, using high grade engineering polymers, for robust performance in harsh conditions and is optimally equipped for handling the tough working environments associated with metal cutting and machine tool engineering, as well as plastics processing and industrial woodworking.

Offered as stand-alone valves and through-flow designs for valve block assemblies, the TC series can be supplied with all standard proprietary air connection fittings, at short notice and low cost, as well as M8 plugs or DIN15217 compliant Form C connectors for the power supply.

Versions with air-piloted return, spring/air activated return, spring return only and double actuation are available.

TC block valves can be modularly combined to form a compact manifold of up to eight units, using a system of three interconnecting tie-rods, pneumatic subplates for air connection and two robust endplates.

Slight loosening of the tie rods is sufficient to remove any of the individual valves, making dismantling the whole block unnecessary.

The valve block can be mounted on an even base, using screws, or onto a DIN50022 top hat rail.

The compact dimensions and light weight of the TC valve series make either format suitable for installing on moving machinery parts, especially as the design is robust and corrosion resistant.

In addition to the new TC valve series, Rexroth can supply best-in-class pneumatic components for optimum performance, such as the latest Octagon mini ISO cylinders, new space-saving RAN/RAP rotary actuators, GPC guide precision cylinders for high side loads, and the high velocity linear RexMover drives.
