All of Star ball and roller rail systems are now available with an integral inductive linear measuring system that allows enhanced machine designs and improved accuracy.
Ball rail system has 30% increased load capacity
New developments of track technology in the Star Ball Rail system have enabled a 30% increase in the load capacity from the modular runner block.
One of the key developments has been the intensive surface finishing of the ball track surface, to Ra values of around 0.1.
This has resulted in an amazing 30% increase in dynamic load capacity or an extension of service life by a factor of 2.2.
The lubrication system has been so improved that for some operations no lubrication is needed at all, during the service life of the runner block.
Maintenance intervals have been extended by the lubricant being precisely applied to wet the surface area of each ball, by the use of optimised seals and by a capacious lubricant reservoir.
Lubrication retention is also considerably assisted by the ball retainer which is offered as an option with Generation 2000.
The ball retainer is designed to achieve uniform load distribution together with very smooth running and low noise.
Rexroth Star Ball Rail Systems offer the same load capacity in all 4 directions of loading.
The Runner Blocks are fully interchangeable and Generation 2000 runner blocks can be retrofitted to existing systems.
Assured dynamic characteristics are: vmax = 5m/s and amax = 500 m/s2.
