Level and flow switch is 'Atex'
intrinsically safe
Two-wire and intrinsically safe are important requirements for many process control components like level and flow switches, especially when hazardous fluids are involved.
Two-wire and intrinsically safe are important requirements for many process control components like level and flow switches, especially when hazardous fluids are involved Will it provide a fast response? Does it have extremely low-flow sensitivity? And is it 'maintenance-free'? are other important criteria

Kynar helps level switch resist corrosive media
A compact, ultrasonic, two-wire level switch which can detect high or low level, across a wide range of corrosive media, is the latest addition to the products offered by Magnetrol International.
Wider applicability for GMR level measurement
Guided Wave Radar level measurement technology is more widely applicable thanks to the addition of single rigid rod and single flexible probe options to the Eclipse range of GWR level transmitters
To meet these requirements Magnetrol International has extended its proven and versatile range of Thermatel flow and level products with the introduction of their TG1 and TG2 switches.
The utilisation of thermal dispersion technology means these new switches provide the same benefits which have helped to establish the Thermatel range.
In particular, the-no-moving-parts principal ensures optimum reliability, easy installation and simple adjustment for effective gaseous and liquid flow measurement / control.

Compact, robust, versatile ultrasonic level switch
The new Echotel 919M level switch, which operates on 24VDC and features a 3 AMP SPDT relay housed in a Valox housing, is ideal for level detection on light or viscous liquids
These switches are unaffected by changes in pressure, conductivity, viscosity, or specific gravity, directly measuring mass flow.
This new switch, which Magnetrol claim is industry's only two-wire, ATEX intrinsically- safe thermal dispersion switch, consists of a probe and preamplifier with remote DIN rail electronics.
Barriers in the DIN rail enclosure provide a two-wire, intrinsically-safe circuit to the probe / preamplifier.
Thermatel products utilize thermal dispersion technology for unsurpassed accuracy and reliability in monitoring gas flow, liquid flow and liquid level.
Twin RTD sensors are used to sense process change in level and flow applications.
The one sensor measures surrounding process temperature to provide a temperature reference, the second sensor is self-heated to establish a temperature differential above the reference temperature.
In level applications, the cooling effect of contacting media reduces the temperature difference between the RTD's, as does an increase in velocity in flow applications.
In each instance, the decrease in temperature differential triggers a relay action.
Other features of the TG1 and TG2 switches include LED indication of both flow / level, up to 700 metres of cable length, mA output signal providing repeatable indication which can also be used for diagnostics and the facility to use all Thermatel probes, including low flow body and high temperature sensor.
Typical flow applications for these switches include, pump protection, cooling air / water, relief valves, flow and no flow.
For level applications, they can be used for high / low level, high viscosity media, high solids content, aeration / foaming, sanitary applications, interface detection and high temperature applications. Request a free brochure from Magnetrol International ...
