New from Magnetrol International is a thermal dispersion mass flow transmitter designed for air and gas flow applications The TA2 thermal mass flow transmitter combines excellent performance, particularly in measuring low flows, with low installed cost

Potential savings of up to 50% are claimed when the TA2 is compared to alternative mass flow devices currently available.

Other important features and benefits of the TA2 transmitter include, high turndown ratio of 100:1, a compact, integral dual compartment explosion-proof enclosure, which enables the TA2 to be used in hazardous areas.

Integral electronics minimise wiring, so installation is simpler and cheaper, while Hart/AMS communications permit full operational functionality.

An LCD display provides indication of the mass flow rate, temperature and totalised flow.

Also, because the display module is rotatable in 90-degree increments, it can be easily viewed, even if the electronics are mounted in a different orientation.

A simple, four pushbutton keypad provides full configuration capabilities, while the proven thermatel 'tree-structure' software is powerful, yet easy to work with.

The TA2 provides a faster response to changes in flow rate, up to four times faster than comparable devices, thus ensuring a more representative flow measurement.

The optional probe, constructed from Hastelloy C, enables the transmitter to be used in very corrosive applications.

Also, because probes are often inserted through a compression fitting or hot tap, the TA2 probe is protected around the tip which prevents the sensor from being damaged should it be accidentally inserted too far into the pipe.

The transmitter is designed for operation in applications with process temperatures up to +200C and is pressure rated to 70bar, depending on process connections.

The linear 4-20mA output is selectable for either active or passive operation.

Typical flow measurement applications include combustion air, digester/bio-gas, compressed air/gas, vent lines/flare headers, natural gas, hydrogen piping and aeration lines. Request a free brochure from Magnetrol International ...
