The new 250 Watt RE 75 - the biggest in the maxon motor RE series - has been developed for industrial use including machine tools and production machinery
By harnessing this advanced technology, maxon motor combines the highest performance with an extremely attractive price.
The DES 50/5 is a 4 quadrant servo amplifier and offers the ultimate in versatility as well as controlled speed in CW and CCW directions whether accelerating or braking.
Two operating modes can be selected - digital speed or current control.

Miniaturisation, power, precision and reliability
The latest response from Maxon Motor to demands for ever-greater miniaturisation is a motor the size of a pencil tip.
The "space vector" modulation process and sinusoidal commutation ensure minimal torque ripple, low motor noise and slow speed control.
Integrated motor chokes allow compatibility with low inductance motors.
The DES 50/5 has a wide input power supply range of 12V up to 50V DC and delivers 5A continuous current and 15A peak to the motor.
Trimming and adjustment of maximum speed, offset, maximum current and gain can all easily be set with just a few potentiometers.
Alternatively, it is possible to configure and command the DES 50/5 by linking it to a PC via serial interfaces (RS 232 or CAN bus).
This direct link takes full advantage of the digital control unit.
It not only allows parameters to be digitally adjusted, but, for multi-unit operations, it also permits easy parameter adjustment to be quickly (and reproducibly) set and copied.
As an additional service, free of charge set-up software is available from the maxon motor international website.
Keith Ellenden of maxon motor uk ltd said, "The DES 50/5 has been designed to give superb control and great flexibility across a wide range of key areas.
We've also succeeded in keeping the price very competitive.
We are sure that this will prove to be a very popular addition to our new range." The DES 50/5 is especially suitable for the use with maxon EC motors.
These high quality brushless motors utilise the best available magnet material - Neodymium.
The motors are particularly impressive in terms of their excellent torque-handling characteristics, high performance, extremely wide speed range and, of course, durability and reliability.
The new servo amplifier DES 50/5 is included in a new catalogue and on a free CD-ROM featuring the maxon selection programme.
This invaluable resource offers design engineers the facility to calculate appropriate drive solutions and import dimensional drawings (*.dxf) files directly into CAD packages. Request a free brochure from Maxon Motor UK ...
