Maxon Motor has created three controllers, including two in the EPOS2 range.

All three controllers are designed to enable OEMs to incorporate Maxon's technology into their devices.

The EPOS2 Module 24/5 comes as a fully programmable positioning package for both brushed and brushless motors that plugs into a user\'s device and can handle an encoder resolution of 2,500,000 increments

The tiny DEC Module 24/2 is designed specifically for use with brushless (electronically commutated) DC motors with Hall sensors up to 48W.

Though the size of a postage stamp, the servoamplifier controls motors at speeds up to 80,000rpm.

Its has a range of possible supply voltages from 8 to 24V DC, a continuous output current of 2A, and is especially suitable for small applications.

The DEC Module is joined by two members of the EPOS2 family, both with analogue input for fast processing, USB and RS232 gateway interfacing and up to 100,000rpm speed control.

The EPOS2 Module 24/5 comes as a standalone, fully-programmable positioning package for brushed and brushless motors, which plugs into a user's device and can handle an encoder resolution of 2,500,000 increments.

The input frequency of 5MHz and the 32bit digital signal processor allow Interpolated Positioning.

The EPOS2 Module 36/2 is a low-cost DC brushed and brushless position drive module.

Both EPOS2 models have analogue position inputs for a faster response time.

Switchable by mask, the input allows smooth transition from analogue to digital control.
