Drill tackles seven-inch deep concrete floor
When Invensys Brook Crompton needed to cut through a seven-inch deep concrete floor, it was a Marcrist DCU700 dry diamond core drill which proved the quickest, easiest and most cost-effective option
The move is in part due to the recent results of a testing programme that has been independently verified by Sheffield Testing Laboratories Ltd.
The tests show that when compared with other major brands, the three Abrasive Revolution ranges give the best performance in their price-bands, and the premium range Hallmarc outlasts the competition by up to five times.
This favourable comparison with the competition was not the only reasoning behind the guarantee, as Powermarc product manager Tim Hearn explained: "Firstly, all our discs meet every safety standard in the world.

Secondly, each disc is inspected before leaving the factory and a quality assurance sticker is applied by hand to prove it has passed its inspection.
"Add this to our new knowledge of where we stand against the competition and we have a very strong basis on which to offer these new guarantees." Abrasive discs are used to cut and grind both metal and stone; users include engineers, welders, fabricators and builders.
There are just under 90 discs available in the three Powermarc ranges, which offer diameters of 4" through to 14".
The entry level brand of disc is the Trademarc range, which includes discs for metal grinding and stone cutting.
The company describe the Trademarc range as the cheapest disc that is still safe.
The new guarantee for the Trademarc disc states that if a customer can buy a cheaper VBG49 compliant disc, Powermarc will refund twice the difference.
The mid range abrasive discs are themselves branded Powermarc, and this range is described as the best value for money.
This range includes discs for stone and metal cutting and grinding.
The guarantee associated with this range states that if a customer does not agree that the disc offers the best price-performance ratio, the company will replace it free of charge.
The top end brand is Hallmarc.
This is a high performance product which is exclusive to metal cutting and grinding.
The Hallmarc range guarantee ensures that if a customer who has used the disc does not agree that this is the best on the market, the company will refund their money.
"I am sure the new guarantees are what customers and dealers need," concluded Tim Hearn.
"Customers want the security of knowing that any problem with these discs will be sorted out quickly by the dealer with no quibbles.
Dealers want the same reassurance from ourselves.
"The guarantees give Powermarc dealers the edge and are a key element of Marcrist International's ongoing objective of meeting the needs of the dealer and customer.".
