Motion and control system for new BMW engine plant
BMW's all new engine plant will use an integrated motion and control package consisting of control systems, servo drives, hydraulics and pneumatics, supplied by Rexroth
As a further advantage the Drive Top system allows the saving of groups of parameter settings, which speeds up design, commissioning and diagnosis.
To assist in the diagnosis procedure, an oscilloscope can be brought up on screen directly from the drive.
The new Ecodrive 3 is available with a parallel interface, with PROFIBUS-DP, INTERBUS, CANopen and DeviceNet interfaces; in order to extend the range of applications for the servo, Ecodrive 3 is now available up to 200 amps.
Ecodrive 3 is suitable for rotary and linear motors and has a separate programming module, which makes the operation of replacing a drive straightforward.
It is designed for machine tools, packaging machines, converting machines and handling and assembly applications.
