Indramat Launches Refu Drives
Until now, Refu drives have been little used outside Germany. Now the company is part of Rexroth Indramat, that is set to change.
Response times are reduced to a tiny 2ms, giving ultrafast reaction to any error detected.
The drive is also equipped with a "safe operating hold" where the drives remain in position after the guard door has been opened.
Measurement checks, fault correction and other similar operations can be carried out safely without disconnecting power.
The machine can then be restarted without any rehoming.
The operator can also define "safe reduced speed" with IndraDrive M.
This permits the process to be run at a slow speed under the observation of the machine setter with the guard door open.
A further safety feature is the ability to define protected zones to make safe spaces off limits - a secure absolute positional range can be activated for each axis.
IndraDrive M safety features provide significant benefits to all applications including machine tools, printing and paper processing, packaging and food processing, metal forming and automation.
Whatever the application, tool changes and adjustments on corrections can be made quickly and safely.
In addition to its safety features IndraDrive M offers the features that Rexroth drives are well known for - open interfaces, integrated PLC, scalability, high precision, space saving drive electronics, maximised dynamics, direct mains connection, integrated power regeneration, EMC compatible design and fast start up and simple diagnostics.
