Neodymium magnets aid automotive design
With pressure to reduce the size of electric motors used in automotive applications, specifying the right magnet is becoming crucial, and rare earth materials are coming into their own.
Specialising in integrating magnets with sub-assemblies for motors, rotors, magnetic pump couplings and other high performance devices, the area has an air-conditioned and temperature-controlled environment ideal for high precision assembly work.
Thirty per cent bigger than its predecessor, the new 10,000 sq ft factory has been fitted out to accelerate the flow of work through the production sequence - from cutting, grinding and cleaning through dimensional and quality checks, assembly, coating and finishing to magnetising and despatch.
Streamlined production means that magnets can usually be delivered within three weeks, and 'ready-to-fit' assemblies can be supplied direct to customers' production lines on a Just In Time basis.
