International permanent magnet manufacturer Magnequench has appointed 43-year-old Andrew Myers as General Manager of its British sales and manufacturing operation.

As Sales Manager for the last two years, Myers has built up an extensive 'face-to-face' knowledge of the UK market for rare earth magnets and magnetic assemblies.

He also has experience of marketing and applications engineering in related sectors.

"Although our main activity here is manufacturing low-volume, high added-value magnets we also have the expertise and capacity to put together complete assemblies, and in greater volume.

This is a market we plan to develop further in the future", says Myers.

The Rotherham-based operation specialises in sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnets.

It can also supply most rare earth types through mutual agency arrangements with its sister Magnequench plants in Europe, mainland Europe and Asia.
