Real-time analyser handles varied vibrations

A M and P International product story

The SO Analyzer's multiple tacho/frequency inputs feature, included in the standard software, offers a low-cost solution to those applications that need a simple spectral mapping capability

M+P International has released the SO Analyzer Rev 3.2, a versatile real-time analyser for noise and vibration measurement, analysis and reporting in the field and in the lab.

It is scalable and offers modules for signal processing and time data recording, modal analysis, impact testing, rotating machinery, vibration control analysis as well as for vehicle passby noise testing.

The SO Analyzer Rev 3.2 offers extensions to the reporting wizard, multiple tacho/frequency inputs, operational modal data processing, new time history display/recording/post-processing functions and dynamic strains support for National Instruments cards.

The multiple tacho/frequency inputs feature, included in the standard software, offers a low-cost solution to those applications that need a simple spectral mapping capability; for machinery applications as well as for swept sine analysis.

The SDOF and MDOF wizards now include the option of processing operational modal data for cases where a structure is self-excited or where input forces are not known.

Applications include automotive testing using road loading, bridges using traffic passing and shakers using random or swept sine inputs.

The reporting functionality has been extended, simplified and made faster.

Acquisition setups of input channels now support the strain gauge settings for the NI USB-9237 and the NI PCI/PXI 4220 cards, including quarter-, half- and full-bridge selections, completion resistor settings, supply voltages and front-end low-pass filtering.

Users of the M+P VibControl system can now use both their vibration controller and SO Analyser in parallel on the same VXI chassis.

The GPS-based passby noise testing system was updated to the "03" revision of the ECE and ISO automotive driveby noise test procedures, which added significant new measurement requirements over and above the old procedures.
