Platform suits demanding vibration testing

A M and P International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 7, 2008

VibPilot allows alias-protected measurements in a frequency range up to 40kHz with more than a 120dB spurious-free dynamic range.

The VibPilot is M+P International's new compact four/eight-channel hardware platform, tailored to meet the requirements of vibration testing and dynamic signal analysis.

It is based on the latest generation of IC technology, resulting in high-precision measurement ability and impressive real-time performance in signal analysis.

With 24bit sigma-delta A/D convertors and a sampling rate of up to 102.4kHz, VibPilot allows for alias-protected measurements in a frequency range up to 40kHz with more than a 120dB spurious-free dynamic range.

The VibPilot is equipped with two analogue outputs and two counter inputs.

It has eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs to process or monitor external control signals.

Rugged and dust-proof, VibPilot can be operated indoors and outdoors under harsh conditions.

The fanless, noise-free operation enables acoustic measurements requiring a low-noise environment.

It is possible to synchronise two or more VibPilot devices via a master clock without influencing their performance, providing maximum flexibility to the NVH engineer.

They can be operated separately or, if higher channel counts are required, together.

The VibPilot supports the full functionality of the VibControl shaker control software and all test modes used in vibration testing, everything from simple ESS random to mixed mode gunfire simulation.

It also fully supports the SO Analyzer software to address the widest range of applications in dynamic signal analysis: real-time FFT and time history data acquisition, modal analysis, impact testing, rotating machinery analysis, acoustic measurements, environmental testing as well as vehicle pass-by-noise measurement.
