"Despite many stories of doom and gloom in UK manufacturing, we are seeing increasing demand for our weighing equipment across a wide range of industries.
Although there was no issue with the quality of work from our subcontractors, we knew we didn't have the necessary control, a situation becoming more apparent as the popularity of 'ProRange' grew.
Bringing the manufacturing in-house gives us tremendous flexibility and significantly enhances our ability to develop new and innovative products.
We can now react rapidly to customers' specific requirements and we are confident that this investment in people and equipment will give added confidence in our overall capabilities".
Based around standard concept modules, 'ProRange' includes recipe formulation 'DataMaster' workstations and 'LineMaster' portion control scales.
Each solution is custom designed to meet customer's individual operational demands.
The main considerations are ease of operator use, weighing performance, hygiene and reliability.
The ProRange concept is widely used in the food, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and flavouring industries.
DataMasters are PC-based workstations designed specifically to meet the diverse needs of today's processing industries.
They satisfy the demands being placed on companies for greater traceability and accountability for their products.
This hardware concept has evolved to support Marco's powerful Trac-IT software suite, which fully encompasses all facets of factory data capture.
Based on industry standard operating platforms, it can be readily configured to integrate seamlessly with many in-house business systems.
As Warren explains: "Unlike many of our competitors, we provide complete weighing solutions where the workstations are far more than just scales.
Consideration is given to the ergonomics of working height, functionality, ease of cleaning and system integration.
Depending on the application, we can incorporate work platforms, drawers and cupboards within the workstations.
Wireless networking and RF barcode scanners eradicate fragile trailing leads that can be easily damaged and cause system failures.
We also specialise in fully mobile workstations which can be easily moved to where they are needed".
