A new high-speed Central Processing Unit (CPU) has been added to Matsushita Electric Works' already successful FP2 series of PLCs The FP2SH combines all the high performance and flexibility required by medium sized PLC users in one compact CPU unit.
With an operating speed of 30ns per basic instruction step, the system can execute a program of approximately 20K steps in a scan time of 1ms.
At 120K steps, the FP2SH has an impressive program capacity that rivals that of larger machines.
The FP2SH CPU is compatible with all I/O and advanced function units for the FP2 series.
With up to 28 modules the FP2 PLC can address a maximum of 1600 inputs and outputs (2048 via remote I/O).
Sequence, positioning and analogue control network functions are all simple to configure, and communications are taken care of by the two RS232C interfaces.
The arrival of the high speed, large memory FP2SH CPU unit expands the field of applications for the FP2 PLC series even wider.
