Matsushita Electric Works has introduced the new high frequency RE Relay, a device that has been specifically designed for 75 impedance applications and is therefore targeted at television, radio, wireless and multiplex electronic communication devices.

Measuring just 20.2 x 11.2 x 9.6 mm, the RE boasts excellent high frequency switching characteristics right up to 2.6 GHz.

Signal leakage is kept to a minimum with isolation values ranging from an impressive 60 dB @ 900MHz to 30 dB @ 2.6GHz.

In addition low insertion losses (typically 0.2 @ 900MHz) and an excellent VSWR ratio make the RE Relay ideal for broadcasting type applications where minimal signal degradation is a perquisite.

With a maximum switching power of 10W, the RE is highly sensitive with a nominal operating power of 200mW.

For further design flexibility the RE is available with coil voltages ranging from 3 to 24 VDC and in PCB or surface mount types.

The surface mount variant offers the user significant space and cost savings, along with simplified component assembly.
