The new HJ plug-in relay from Matsushita Electric Works provides a cost-effective solution for a broad spectrum of power-switching applications.

This powerful device is available in both 2 Form C and 4 Form C contact arrangements and has a nominal switching capacity of 7A at 250V AC (2 Form C) and 5Aat 250V AC (4 Form C).

Measuring just 28 x 21.5 x 35mm, the compact HJ relay is suitable for use in a variety of applications including control panels, power supply units, vending machines and communications equipment.

This new device has a number of optional features that have been specifically designed to assist the user in applications where large numbers of relays are required.

A test button type can be requested, which allows for the validity of the circuit to be verified without having to power up the relay.

In addition, a version with bright LED indicators enables the user to confirm the device's operative status at a glance.

This useful feature also allows the user to detect coil breakdown and therefore aid circuit maintenance.

By reducing environmental impacts at all stages of the product life cycle, Matsushita Electric Works aims to contribute to the realisation of environmentally friendly manufacturing.

As such the HJ relay has been designed with Cadmium free contacts to prevent pollution from oxidised heavy metals.

For ease of installation the HJ relay is available with convenient screw terminal sockets with finger protection.

It has a long mechanical life and conforms to all relevant international standards.

The HJ relay has the same footprint as Matsushita Electric Works' popular HC relay and as such is suitable for comparable applications.
