HMI systems get Ethernet and Profibus
capability
Additional expansion cards have been introduced to allow the GK series HMI systems to communicate with various networking systems, such as Ethernet or Profibus
The GK series of Human Machine Interface (HMI) products from Matsushita Electric Works are flexible units that provide engineers with a cost effective, user-friendly interface between the operator and PLC controlled machine Additional expansion cards have now been introduced in order to allow the terminals to communicate with various networking systems, such as Ethernet or Profibus

New plug-in relay for power switching
The new HJ plug-in relay from Matsushita Electric Works provides a cost-effective solution for a broad spectrum of power-switching applications.
Relay gives impressive performance for its size
With a width of just 5mm the slim-line PA relay now switches an impressive 5A @ 250VAC (previously 3A @ 250VAC)
Several types of expansion cards are available and they can be connected to the HMI via an expansion port.
The GK-IFC-ET and GK-IFC-EC Ethernet expansion cards enable quick and inexpensive communication between the GK Series and other Ethernet based systems.
This allows the GK series of HMIs to be accessed from remote locations enabling supervisory control and online monitoring.
The transmission rate of these expansion cards is 10 Mbit/s allowing fast communication updates.
The GK-IFC-PB Profibus card allows for data exchange with up to 96 users at speeds of up to 12Mbits/s.
This card allows communication using the Profibus Open Fieldbus Standard to other Profibus enabled devices such as inverters and distributed I/O.
The new expansion cards also increase memory capacity of the GK allowing the user more flexibility with extra graphics for example.
This makes the GK series essentially future proof and able to grow with the requirements of the system.
The GK series of HMI extends from a compact two-line text display for simple messaging, up to a high quality 10.4" TFT colour display.
All units incorporate freely programmable function keys, full numeric data entry keypads and easy-to-read backlit displays showing alarm messages, moving graphics, graphical trends and real time clocks.
All GKs are optimised for use with Matsushita's FP series of PLCs and can be used in a wide range of industrial and office applications.
