Activated carbon textiles manufacturer acquired
MAST Carbon has completed the purchase of Plymouth-based activated carbon textiles manufacturer Vapour Management Systems from Invensys.
MAST Carbon, the specialist developer of activated carbon products, has completed the purchase, for an undisclosed sum, of Plymouth-based activated carbon textiles manufacturer, Vapour Management Systems (VMS), from the global industrial giant, Invensys.
The deal is part of MAST Carbon's strategic growth plans to develop and manufacture activated carbon textile products for use in a range of filtration applications, including chemical defence, medical wound dressings, energy storage and aircraft cabin air filtration.
Under its terms, MAST will bring VMS, manufacturer of the C-Tex brand of activated carbon textiles, into the MAST Carbon Group, and rename the company as MAST Carbon Advanced Products.
The new company will continue to operate out of VMS's Head Office and state of the art manufacturing facility in Plymouth.
MAST Carbon Advanced Products will be headed up by new Managing Director, Andy Blackburn, and former VMS General Manager, Mark Giles.
"The acquisition of VMS is an excellent fit for us", explains Blackburn.
"With our long, established pedigree in R and D, MAST Carbon is perfectly positioned for future growth".
"Now we have the high quality manufacturing capacity to take this emerging range of advanced activated carbon products to market".
"We will retain the well-established C-Tex brand name and continue to invest in research, development, plant and people to build on the existing strengths of both organisations and grow them under the MAST Carbon banner".
