Marlin Automated Manufacturing Systems has appointed Jon Alderson as its Northern Sales Manager.

The role is a newly created position aimed at further increasing the effectiveness of Marlin's customer service policy across the UK.

Alderson joins the Dorset-based automation specialist from Modular Automation, where he spent five years as a Sales Engineer, exceeding his targets by at least 20% each year.

With 18 years' experience in the engineering industry, he has a wealth of knowledge across all areas of automation including rotary indexing and palletised conveyor systems, robotics and semi-automated Kaizen-based cell manufacture.

He has previously worked at Mechatronic Production Systems, Wavis Engineering and Westley Tools.

"Jon's substantial experience brings a new dimension to what we can offer customers", comments Aaron Houston, Marlin's Sales Director.

"The appointment allows us to focus even more on our customer service, an area for which we are already renowned.

This is very much a part of our ongoing expansion drive, which has seen us take on many new and exciting contracts over the past six months".
